GRIFFITH UNIVERSITY MARINE SOCIETY
ALL ABOUT THE SOCIETY
Founded by students in 2020, the Griffith University Marine Society facilitates social events for anyone passionate about marine science, marine biology, or marine conservation. Members are provided with opportunities to meet professional researchers and academics in their field of interest, while also receiving career and employment advice from employment professionals and Griffith University alumni.
Since its inception, the Marine Society has seen members placed in volunteering opportunities ranging from placements with the Qld Government to hands on lab and field work with the Coastal and Marine Research Centre at Griffith University itself.

We are always keen to reach out into the community to form working relationships with businesses and organisations that can help our members make the most out of their time at Griffith University. We actively encourage members to get involved with volunteering and hands-on working opportunities to encourage an expansion of their understanding of Marine Science, while helping them to develop critical thinking and practical skills parallel to their academic qualification.

If you have a volunteering, employment, or work placement opportunity that you think would suit our members, please feel free to get in touch with us
